Planned Public Transport Service Disruptions

The list below shows the current known service disruptions for bus and rail services within Cornwall.

Only roadworks that affect bus services are listed below: 

From 21 March 2024 Ongoing

Due to roadworks the road at Wheal Rose is currently closed.  During the closure period Hopleys service 315 is operating under diversion via Skinner’s Bottom and not serving stops at Wheal Rose.

7 May to 30 July 2024

The road between Nine Maidens and Penmarth is currently closed.  OTS service 42 is diverting between Goonlaze and Nine Maidens.  From Falmouth at Goonlaze buses are operating to Wheal Buller, then via the B3297 to Four Lanes and Nine Maidens where the bus turns to rejoin the normal route to Four Lanes. Towards Truro the reverse is operating.  During the closure buses are unable to serve Penmarth.   

11 June to 22 July 2024

There will be closures on Trezaise Road between the 11 June and the 22 July.  During the closure Go-Cornwall service 26 will operate only as far at the Roche Sports and Social Club where it will turn and will be unable to serve the Trezaise Avenue stop.

24 June to 13 July 2024

The B3277 at Chiverton will be closed between the 24 June and the 13 July.  It is expected to reopen at 0730 on Sunday 14 July.  During the closure period Go-Cornwall service 88 will be unable to serve Blackwater diverting via the A30.  First Buses services U1A and U1E will, in both directions, operate under diversion via Blackwater and the A30 which will cause delays to the service.  Hopleys service 304 will also operate under diversion which could cause delays. 

27 June to 11 August 2024

Due to utility works the road between Penmarth and Carnkie will be closed between the 27 June and the 11 August.  During the closure period Go-Cornwall service 36 to Helston School will operate under diversion via the main road and will be unable to serve Penmarth.  Students are advised to catch the bus at the Gravel Pits or Crellow Lane.  

30 June to 13 July 2024

There will be overnight closures from 1900 on weekday nights between the 30 June and the 13 June on the A393 through Lanner.  During the closure buses will operate under diversion.

Go-Cornwall Service 40: Will not be able to serve between Lanner & Comford between 1900-0600. Services will be diverted via Carharrack, Trefula & St Day in both directions.

First Buses Service U2:  Buses will take their normal lime of route on the A393 until they reach the Fox and Hounds public house. They will then take the turning on the right for the B3298 towards Carharrack and continue along the B3298 until they get to Scorrier. After this they will turn left onto B3298 to the roundabout A3047 then onto Mount Ambrose then, along Sandy Lane until they reach the top of Lanner where they will turn right back onto their normal line of route.

1 to 13 July 2024

Due to resurfacing works there will overnight weekday closures between 1900 and 0400 on the A390 at St Blazey from the 1 to the 13 July.  During the closure Go-Cornwall services 24E and 25 will operate under diversion from the Four Lords via Trenovissick Road and Par Lane Roundabout.

1 July - ongoing

Camelford A39 (Fore Street) is closed due to an unsafe building. All services will divert Via B3266 between Camelford Station and Valley Truckle. Go Cornwall Bus services 95, 96, 96A & 97 will serve Clease Road and turn at the car park. Please confirm details with the operator.

8 to 12 July 2024

Due to utility works Boscaswell Road will be closed between the 8 and 12 July.  During the closure First Buses service 17 and Go-Cornwall service 17E will be unable to serve Boscaswell.

10 July 2024

Station Road will closed for surfacing works from 0600 - 1800. Go Cornwall Bus services 36 and 36A will be affected and will not have access to serve Perranwell. 

10 to 12 July 2024

Due utility works there will be closures on Tredrea Lane between 0800 and 1800 from the 10 to the 12 July.  Please confirm details of diversions for Go-Cornwall service 15 with the operator.

14 July 2024

Helston Civic Parade - Due to a road closure, Go Cornwall Bus services 34 & 36 will not serve Coinagehall Street between 1400-1630. Services from Truro & Redruth will divert via Helston Tesco & Trengrouse Way into Flambards. Buses from Culdrose will divert via Sainsbury's towards Furry Way back towards Sainsburys and Tesco.

15 July - 24 July 2024

19:00 until 06:00. The last 96A service to Bodmin will be unable to serve Normandy Way and will operate from Sainsburys to Asda then the depot. No service to Mount Folly or Bodmin General.

17 July 2024 

Due to a road closure, Go Cornwall Bus service 50 will not serve part of Gerrans between 0930-1430. The service will be diverted towards Parc-an-Dillon in both directions. 

17 July - 27 July 2024 

There will be road closures along the Higher Town, Truro between the hours of 19;00 and 06:00. First Bus services T1, T2, T3, U1, U1A, & U1E will operate under diversion, please confirm details with the operator.

From May, train timetables will only be available for 6 weeks instead of the usual 12 weeks. This is expected to be the case for 6 months due to planned engineering projects across the country.
